Vacuum Chill Rolls are similar to vacuum rolls in operation, but with the added ability to transfer heat between roll and web. Intimate contact between web and roll yields heat transfer superior to conventional heat transfer rolls, especially as line speeds increase.
A typical application is at the end of the dryer for tension control, web guiding, and cooling.
