stress and deflection analysis and heat transfer programs available.
Our Application Engineers can identify potential problems with deflection,
critical speed, or excessive stress levels at the quote stage of
a project. We can quickly analyze your heat transfer needs.
Many times Webex has helped our customers avoid costly mistakes.
For example, an OEM recently sent
in a quote request for a pair of oil heated nip rolls. Webex helped
size the rolls, advised the correct fluid flow rate, and advised
on the capacity of the heating unit required. We also observed the
nip forces were high and the journals looked small. Using our proprietary
analysis programs Webex determined the journals were indeed undersized
and suggested an increase in diameter and the use of stronger alloy
steel. Had the rolls been manufactured per print they would have
failed. Smaller roll companies don't offer this type of expertise.
At Webex it is part of the normal routine.
A major press rebuilder was having
trouble in the oven section of a rebuilt printing line. At full
speed, the existing oven idlers shook violently. Webex was called
in look at the situation. Webex was quickly able to identify the
problem. The rebuild included adding tendency drives for the oven
idlers. The existing shafts where not adequate for a tendency drive
due to a critical speed problem. Webex was able to design and manufacture
custom shafts to solve the problem and still utilize the existing
rolls. The new shafts were manufactured quickly and the oven ran
smooth with the Webex designed solution.
