| Webex, Inc., a 35-year veteran manufacturer of precision rolls for the web handling and converting industries, has announced the acquisition of the Isoten vacuum roll product line from Coating and Converting Resources, Inc. (CCR), of Sussex, Wisconsin.
The Isoten company was first created in the 1990s by McKim Browning in Alfred, Maine. CCR purchased Isoten in June of 2000 and moved the company to Sussex, Wisconsin. Today the Isoten line includes vacuum tension rolls, vacuum chill rolls and vacuum belts.
The Webex acquisition includes all Isoten entities, including brand rights, product and parts inventory, and all proprietary designs and technical documentation. Tim Oliver, product applications manager for the Isoten line at CCR, joins Webex as the full-time Isoten customer service manager. CCR president Lee Fennema will also be actively involved in supporting customer transitions during the acquisition period.
According to Paul Schulz, president of Webex, Inc., “The Isoten vacuum roll product line is expected to both enhance and complement Webex's existing offering of custom vacuum rolls. Webex has engineered and manufactured custom web tension and control vacuum rolls for converters worldwide for over 15 years. We intend to maintain the Isoten brand name while integrating this product line with our existing vacuum roll products and engineering services. Collectively, Webex now offers the most comprehensive solutions available to serve today's vacuum roll applications.”
The Isoten acquisition was completed in the first quarter of 2007. Webex has already integrated the new vacuum roll product line into the company's internal ISO manufacturing and quality control processes. Webex has been ISO 2000:9001 certified since 1994. |
