Most carbon fiber rolls are produced in a similar manner, by winding millions of individual resin-coated carbon fibers on mandrels to form a carbon fiber tube. When you order a FeatherLight carbon fiber roll from Webex, however, every detail — from fiber modulus ratings to epoxy surface coatings — will be addressed by our roll experts.

We start by verifying and/or determining all roll performance specifications — just like we do on all steel and aluminum roll orders. On-staff engineers will run calculations on load, speed, web tension and web width and wrap. Only then can the appropriate epoxy chemical, fiber grade, winding angles and depths, surface resin type and thickness be specified.
